Protesters returned to a newly cleared Frank Ogawa Plaza to protest this morning's Oakland Police raid that wiped out the encampment. The scene, at least for now, remains relatively peaceful. Plainclothes police officers are mingling with the crowd.
According to KRON 4 News, there are around a couple of hundred protesters in the area. Protesters are shouting the usual: "We are the 99%" and "Reclaim Frank Ogawa Plaza!"
Meanwhile, in San Francisco, police put up metal barricades to surround the Occupy San Francisco encampment at Justin Herman Plaza.
We'll update throughout the evening.
Update: Deputy Mayor Sharon Cornu has resigned, effective immediately, reports the Mercury News. "The second member of the mayor's team to submit her resignation just today." Mayor Quan's "legal adviser and longtime friend," Dan Siegel, quit today due to the Monday morning raid on the Occupy encampment.
