A 63-year-old San Francisco woman is accused of attempted murder after bashing her 67-year-old husband on the head with a hammer at a downtown hotel early Saturday morning. The two senior citizens live elsewhere in the city, but had checked in to a hotel at Grant and Sutter streets. The elder victim was found in the lobby, bleeding from his head when police arrived, an SFPD spokesman told CBS.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for the non life-threatening head wound. The wife had some for "unspecified medical issues" and was later booked on suspicion of attempted murder.

For the morbidly curious, the Grant Street hotel where the incident occurred is either the swank Hotel Triton or the "exceptional value" Hotel Baldwin. Both of which boast a location mere steps from Chinatown's Dragon Gate.
