Civic Center / Assault: A clerk at the totally shady Civic Center Hotel at 12th and Market got severely beaten last evening after refusing entry to a man in his 20s. Bayview / Lady Fight: A 19-year-old woman got a plate smashed over her head by a 36-year-old woman in a "WrestleMania-style beating" early Thursday. This was all because of a spat over the volume of some music in a Bayview housing project. The teen suffered a head laceration and was transported to the hospital. The 36-year-old was arrested. Oakland / Stabbing & Arson: One of the two victims found in an apartment fire Saturday night has been identified as 56-year-old Renee Washington. She had been stabbed to death before the blaze was set in the apartment. The man with her, also found dead, has not been identified. Washington had lived in the apartment for two months and was an acquaintance of the listed resident, a man who is in jail. [Tribune]

Redwood City / Stabbing: Yikes! The estranged wife of a man in Redwood City showed up at his place of his business and stabbed him in the head and neck. Laura Jean Wenke, 50, of Los Altos was arrested for attempted homicide. [Examiner]
