Yesterday morning Hayward Police finally made an arrest in the disappearance and presumed homicide of nursing student Michelle Le, who has been missing since May 27. The lone suspect is the same person of interest they've been investigating all along, Le's former friend Giselle Esteban. Esteban already made the mistake of telling reporters, shortly after Le's disappearance, that she hated Le for stealing her man — Scott Marasigan, Esteban's baby daddy, with whom she was recently battling for custody of their daughter. Police do not believe Marasigan was involved at all in Le's disappearance, and he says he's "relieved" that Esteban is finally behind bars.

Le's body still hasn't been found, despite numerous searches of the Niles Canyon and Sunol hills areas. As ABC 7 reports, police have cell-phone tracking evidence showing that Esteban and Le's cell phones traveled in tandem to the remote area the night of Le's disappearance. They also have security camera footage of Esteban in the parking garage where Le was last seen, and some physical evidence as well, including Le's DNA on Esteban's sneakers. Friends of Esteban say she is prone to violent "outbursts," and has been jealous of Le for quite a while.

27-year-old Esteban has been booked on one count of murder in Alameda County Jail. She's set to be arraigned this afternoon.
