ART: Printmaker Xavier Viramontes is exhibiting his new collection of work, Characters, Friends and Neighbors, featuring a whimsical cast of canines and felines while drawing attention to the plight of homeless animals. MUSIC: There will be a few tickets available at the door to tonight's Outside Lands Pre-Party at NightLife, featuring live music by Best Coast and Eskmo, and DJs Motion Potion (Sunset SF), Platurn (Oakland Faders), and Eric Sharp (Rock-it Science Laboratories) spinning throughout the night. There will also be festival eats, fortune telling, and caricature artists, along with the various museum exhibits. Rare Dada + Surrealist Cinema, featuring the solo project of Peter Conheim of the infamous collage band Negativland. Films include “Dada” (1967), “Your Face” (1987), “Anemic Cinema” (1926), “Un Chein Andalou” (“The Andalusian Dog”, 1928), and “Daffy Duck in Hollywood” (1938).
