A 40-year-old woman walking home on Francisco Street near Taylor Street in North Beach ended up in SF General Hospital last night after she was hit in the back during a string of gunfire around 9:45 p.m.

According to police reports from Bay City News, the victim, "was walking home when she heard rapid gunshots and realized she had been shot in the back." Her injuries are not life-threatening.

SFPD didn't immediately have any suspect information available, but a neighbor at the North Beach Place Apartments tells CBS5 that, "police with flashlights were searching for gun casings in the area of Francisco and Taylor streets," around 10:30 last night.
