An 11-year-old girl was hit by a stray bullet in the Western Addition late Friday night during gunfire that resulted from an argument amongst some nearby teens, reports Bay City News. According to the Chronicle, the girl was at a sleepover at her cousin's house at Turk and Laguna when a bullet came threw a window, struck her in the heart, and passed through her body. She was taken to SF General Hospital with life-threatening injuries and has remained in life-threatening condition as of about Noon Sunday.

Bay City News reports that two 18- and 19-year-old men, whom police haven't identified, were arrested yesterday afternoon. The two men, along with a third who was detained and then released, were involved in an argument amongst a group of teenaged men when one began shooting. The incident is being investigated as gang-related.

The Chronicle spoke to neighbors in the building where the shooting occurred, who all said tension in the area has escalated this month due to a clash between teens from different neighborhoods that took place in a nearby park on July 4th.
