Monday Morning Roundup

  • Not exactly having an easy catch with Dad yesterday, the Giants lost to the A's by one run. In typical Oakland fashion, the A's made off with the Bay Bridge series and the Giants remain half a game up on the Diamondbacks for the NL-West Lead. [MLB.com] [CBS5]

  • Speaking of the Oakland Athletics: Here's the trailer for Moneyball in which Brad Pitt stars as A's manager Billy Beane and Jonah Hill plays the nerd with the computer. With Aaron Sorkin behind the screenplay, the movie might also be a surprise winner.

  • Did everyone get the special father's day message from David Chiu's dad? OK, great. Just checking. [ChiuBlog]

  • With such wonderful weather, the normally-indoors folks at Curbed are celebrating Outdoors Week. First order of business: Where's the best place to take the dog? [CurbedSF]

  • Sorry kids, several shark sightings over the weekend mean you won't be able to enjoy the Pacific Ocean any deeper than your knees for the next four or five days. Coast Guard officials issued a warning after spotting this leopard shark on Ocean Beach and a 10-foot Great White about a mile North of Stinson Beach.

  • Also closed this week: Part of the Great Highway for sand removal. [SFAppeal]

  • If you were a little bit beat up by the game the Giants lost to Arizona last Thursday, you can take solace knowing that Arizona fans are D-bags [ugh, sorry]. Here's the video of an Arizona fan wrestling a not-at-all significant foul ball from an unsuspecting lady spectator. What a brute! [Deadspin]

  • Dusty, the San Mateo Cat burglar continues to make headlines on the peninsula. He has stolen his neighbor's bikini twice now! What a creep. [CBS5]

  • Two American women tied the knot in Nepal's first public lesbian wedding. Congratulations, ladies! [Gawker]
