With the holiday weekend in front of us, traffic cops and highway patrollers are gearing up to give you a citation for pretty much any stupid thing you can do behind the wheel of a motor vehicle. The Snitch reports SFPD will be setting up a sobriety checkpoint at the Embarcadero and Washington Street tonight to catch the post-happy hour crowd and the late night club commuters.
On a larger scale CBS5 lets us know that CHP will be out en mass to enforce a triple-threat zero-tolerance policy. The highways patrollers will be cracking down on texting while driving, click-it-or-ticket seatbelt violations and of course: DUIs. We recommend limiting all of your drinking and texting to the comfort of a familiar barstool on a public transit line.
