ART: Mark I Chester studio presents an exhibition of eighteen pastel drawings by Rolando B Rosler celebrating the male figure, including gesture drawings, figure studies, and facial portraits. Rosler says about his work, "My love for colors, the lines, the actions of creating a piece of work with just a small piece of chalk or pastel never ceases to amaze me. I want to keep an innocence and as much intuition that I can allow my self, considering my formal background." (5 to 6:30 p.m., Mark I Chester studio, 1229 Folsom Street)
THEATER: You still have another week to catch The West Coast premiere of Sarah Ruhl's new adaptation of Three Sisters at Berkeley Rep, which enlivens the classic story of an entire village of "unlucky lovers struggling with the bittersweet distance between reality and dreams" and "explores the intertwined mysteries of denial and hope." SFist Jay describes the production as being made up of "a truly professional and talented cast, one of the best ensembles we've seen performing in the Bay Area in years." (8 p.m., Berkeley Rep School of Theatre, 2071 Addison Street)
LITERARY: The theme of this month's Feast of Words: A Literary Potluck at SOMArts is “A Place of Her Own,” inspired by the exhibition of the same name that's on display at SOMArts through May. There will be a reading by Literary Guest Arlene Biala, along with a creative competition of on-the-spot writing inspired by the theme, and a potluck, of course. (7 p.m., SOMArts Cultural Center, 934 Brannan Street)
