The latest news from Clive Owen and Nicole Kidman's Ernest Hemingway biopic comes from today's Garchik column where a Chronicle reader in San Rafael recently got a rude awakening from the film crew's early-morning call time:

Latest sighting of the "Hemingway & Gellhorn" gang was at St. Vincent's School for Boys in Marinwood. Darcy Lichter, who lives nearby, says the trucks and "army of people yakking and yelling," were on the scene just before 5 a.m. Wednesday, leaving her a bit sleep-deprived. No doubt, she'll see the movie anyway.

We've been so excited to hear about Nicole Kidman's spin classes and Clive Owen's dining habits that we neglected to even consider the possibility that there could be a backlash against the film crews around the Bay. Hopefully the school, which provides treatment for boys with emotional disturbances, was well-compensated for the use of their facilities.
