One day before today's season opener in Los Angeles, Giants pitcher Barry Zito was involved in a car accident in West Hollywood. "The crash occurred shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Boulevard and Sunset Plaza Drive," reports Associated Press. "The pitcher was taken to a Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was examined and released."
Though his vehicle sustained "major damage," Zito was reportedly not at fault. However, the crash is still under investigation.
The Giants open the season against the L.A. Dodgers at around 5 p.m. today.
