Get out those ponchos. We expect to see a lot of mangled umbrella carcasses out there today (our annoying pink Tote included, we've been trying to get rid of that crappy thing for a while now, but it somehow keeps on ticking). Bay City News via SF Appeal warns that the Bay Area can expect high winds and possible flash floods today.
Be careful behind the wheel. The California Highway Patrol has issued high wind advisories for the Bay Bridge, the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge, and the San Rafael-Richmond Bridge.
The National Weather Service says there's a slight chance of thunderstorms, which could produce small hail in the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to be in the 50s today and in the upper 40s tonight, with southwest winds of 10 to 20 mph and a slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening.
It sounds like more of the same tomorrow, with even higher winds -- south winds of 15 to 20 mph becoming 20 to 30 mph in the afternoon.
Bundle up, folks!
