Sanchez and 16th: Poor little Sanchez Street just wants to be as cool and pretty as Noe Street between Duboce and Market, and one homeowner's been making a go of it, putting some potted plants and trees out in front of their house on the sidewalk -- something that virtually every building along Noe does, in a coordinated effort of sorts that's apparently condoned by the City. But now, the City has gone after this Sanchez Street homeowner, via some neighbors' complaints apparently, and this does seem kinda unfair. [Uptown Almanac]
Treat and 19th: In case you hadn't heard, a brewery and brewpub are on their way to the Mission called Southern Pacific Brewery, from Anthony LaVia (Gestalt Haus, Matador), after many many months of wrangling with Planning after some NIMBY business neighbors got excited. The conflict was largely about street parking and loading zones, and LaVia finally reached a compromise letting nearby businesses, like some carpenters, share the brewery's new loading zone. Southern Pacific Brewery is due, hopefully, by late June. [Mission Local]
