A 60-year-old South San Francisco man and contract employee for CalTrain was recently arrested on charges of falsely imprisoning two female passengers, one of whom was a minor. Aside from the two false imprisonment charges, Bay City News reports today that Ricardo Cano is facing "one felony count of contact with a minor with intent to commit a crime and one misdemeanor count of soliciting to engage in lewd conduct."
Apparently the crude conductor used his power as a ticket-checker to take victims to secluded parts of the train where he made some lascivious propositions. Luckily, there are no reports that any force was used and it sounds like both victims escaped with nothing more than a creepy feeling and the desire to lodge a complaint with the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office Transit Police Bureau, who conducted the investigation.
UPDATE: The Examiner has some additional details. Namely: "More than a he-said, she-said case, [Santa Clara County Dep. DA Steve] Fein and [Head of transit police Dave] Triolo said investigators have received ample information to arrest and prosecute Cano. They wouldn’t say who provided the information."
