Speaking of cool postage stamps -- Remember when Bay Area Reporter talked about an effort that's underway to get San Francisco artist Jim Leff's stamp memorializing Harvey Milk made into an official U.S. postage stamp?
Well, it looks like the effort is gaining steam. The Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee recently contacted the Milk family to gather more information about Milk's life, and they notified the Harvey Milk National Stamp Campaign that they were considering issuing the stamp at some point.
Since commemorative stamps are released around major milestones, the Milk stamp would likely come out around November 8, 2012, marking the 35th anniversary of Milk's historic electoral win, or May 22, 2015, coinciding with his 85th birthday.
