By now we all know the tale of John Toomey, the Union Square Macy's Santa Claus who was fired after telling a barely risque joke to a couple of horrible old people. Well, Toomey is in luck: Geary Street restaurant Lefty O'Douls hired Toomey, doubling his price. Ha!
"Beginning Saturday, John Toomey will appear on a specially constructed North Pole Winter Wonderland stage at the restaurant from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. until Christmas Eve," Lefty's spokesman Lee Houskeeper explained to BCN (via SF Appeal). "His four-point contract stipulates that he is allowed to tell jokes."
Lefty's O'Douls, located at 333 Geary, will also have a party this Friday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. to welcome their new Santa Claus, blue humor and all. "He will be there seven days a week from 3 to 8 p.m. through Christmas Eve."
