Bay City News tells us (via SF Appeal) that on Saturday evening, a BART passenger got his leg stuck between the train and the platform when exiting at the Walnut Creek station. It isn't known how the incident occurred.
Fortunately, there was an officer on the platform who was able to tell the train operator not to leave the station. BART spokesman Linton Johnson said this probably saved the passenger's life. The passenger was sent to Walnut Creek Kaiser after crews pried him free.
This contributor will be the first to admit we can be pretty darn clumsy ourselves, so we'll be doubly sure to "Mind the Gap" from here on out.
