Police are investigating a series of robberies involving pepper spray throughout San Francisco. The first attack happened on the 200 block of Florida Street in the Mission District around 9 p.m. on Wednesday. "Two men grabbed a 41-year-old woman's cell phone, sprayed the chemical irritant in her face and kicked her before running away."

Later in the night, a wee 30 minutes later, the same pair of rapscallions (presumably) sprayed "a 26-year-old man on the 700 block of Page Street in the Lower Haight and stole his wallet, iPod and backpack before fleeing in a Saturn." (Nothing good can come from a Saturn, folks. Nothing.)

Another similar mugging happened that same night -- which resulted in the female victim being taken to a nearby hospital -- and two other pepper spray-related robberies occurred on Thursday near Bush and Scott streets in Lower Pacific Heights and Filbert and Pierce streets in Cow Hollow.

The suspects are described as two twentysomething black men. No arrests have been made.
