Bay Area baby boomers took a hit to the black felt beret this week after The KPFA Morning Show was yanked from the air. Why? Well, for starters, radio is a dying industry. But, if the wheels-within-wheels sect is to be believed, nefarious work could be at play, man. Allegations of interoffice "“political retaliation” have, of course, surfaced as well.
After hearing the news, and in keeping with the show's "Greatest Generation" aesthetic, "the staff of The Morning Show locked themselves inside a third-floor alternate studio and began broadcasting during the regularly scheduled timeslot." Oh dear. Also, there was some sort of protest outside the studio this morning. To everything, turn, turn, turn, et cetera and so forth.
In all seriousness, it's always sad to see local voices bid adieu. We're certain KPFA Morning Show hosts Aimee Allison and Brian Edwards-Tieker will find more fruitful outlets in the very near future.
