Back in March 2009, San Francisco photographer Julie Michelle launched I Live Here:SF, an ever-growing collection of beautiful, lush portraits shot in various San Francisco locales and paired with the subjects' odes to San Francisco.
One-hundred eighty subjects (and counting) later, the project is still going strong. So much so that Michelle is hosting an I Live Here:SF retrospective show at SOMArts Cultural Center throughout the month of November. The show opens on Friday, November 5, with a big opening night reception, and will feature video and installations accompanying the large-scale photos. There will also be various special events each week, including workshops, a story-telling event with Muni Diaries, a panel discussion, and a closing night party.
Naomi Kirsten caught up with Julie about 'I Live Here:SF' and its retrospective show.
