According to new campaign finance reports, Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman is swiftly running out of money, while Jerry Brown still has plenty with which to run attack ads between now and November 2nd. Per the Chron: "Whitman, the former CEO of eBay, had spent more than $140 million on her campaign as of Sept. 30, compared with Brown's $10.8 million... [that leaves Brown] with $22.6 million left in the bank, compared with $9.2 million for Whitman." Meg is sure going to be pissed/sad if she loses, having dumped $119 million of her own cash into this.

As of now, she's not exactly winning. Though one poll conducted on September 21 showed the two candidates dead even, a new average of more recent polls by Real Clear Politics puts Brown at a six-point lead.
