Walnut Creek police are asking residents to be wary of a man who allegedly tried to lure a 13-year-old boy into his car yesterday. "The boy was at the Encina Grande Shopping Center at Ygnacio Valley and Oak Grove roads when a dark blue, mid-size Chevrolet SUV pulled up to him," reports BCN (via CBS 5)."The driver told the boy something similar to, 'You don’t remember me, but I know your mother and she wanted me to pick you up.'" The (very smart) boy ran away from the car and notified a security guard.

The driver was described as a balding white man in his late 30s or 40s with green eyes and a goatee, somewhere around 5', 10", heavy-set, wearing a white T-shirt and dark pants. Also, "there was a passenger in the car as well, who was described only as a white man in his 30s with short blond hair."

Anyone with information should call the Walnut Creek police at 925-943-5844.
