After Thursday's natural gas explosion and massive fire that, if you will, put San Bruno on the map, four people are confirmed dead. Three of the four deceased have been identified: a mother and daughter team, 44-year-old Jacqueline Greig and 13-year-old Janessa Greig, were killed during the blaze.
"[Jacqueline] Greig worked for the California Public Utilities Commission for 21 years and was a member of its Division of Ratepayer Advocates," reports the Chronicle. "She also was listed as a member of the natural gas committee on the National Association of State Utility Consumer Advocates."
Also killed was Jessica Morales, 20, of San Bruno, who died inside her boyfriend's home. Her boyfriend, Joseph Ruigomez, a 19-year-old Skyline College student, stayed inside the burning house, "desperately trying to save Morales," before being forced to evacuate.
The coroner has not yet identified the fourth fire victim. In addition to lives lost, a final number of 37 homes were destroyed during the inferno.
