The rad Rad Report gave us a heads-up about this incredible interview that a wet-behind-the-ears Aaron Axelsen did for Live 105 back in 1994 at the height of Brit Pop.
Rival bands Blur and Oasis, who happened to be playing shows in San Francisco a day apart, were tricked into doing an interview at the same time. Blur had played the Fillmore with Pulp as their openers, and Oasis played their first Bay Area show at Bottom of the Hill the following night with the notorious Brian Jonestown Massacre opening. Check it out below.
And as if this interview weren't momentous enough, the details afterwards are also pretty noteworthy:
After the interview BLUR and I picked up Jarvis Cocker of PULP at his hotel and then drove over to Bottom Of The Hill to watch OASIS and BRIAN JONESTOWN MASSACRE play to a capacity crowd. To this day I still have no idea how everyone fit into my piece of crap 1988 broken down Jetta.
Wow!
