Former front runner Larry Ellison is out. According to CBS 5, "The Golden State Warriors have been sold for an NBA record $450 million to a group led by Mandalay Entertainment CEO Peter Guber and Joe Lacob, a minority owner of the Boston Celtics."
The previous NBA record was for a cool $401 million for the Phoenix Suns back in 2004.
According to Sports Net Bay Area, "Guber has been a fixture in the entertainment industry for more than 30 years. He has personally produced or executive produced Rain Man, Batman, The Color Purple, Midnight Express, Gorillas in the Mist: The Story of Dian Fossey, The Witches of Eastwick, Missing and Flashdance." And, anyone remotely associated with Flashdance, as you damn well know, can do no wrong. Kudos to you, Warriors.
