A fiery crash this morning on the eastbound, lower deck of the Bay Bridge snarled up traffic for a couple of hours but has now been cleared.
The crash involved a speeding Volvo and a recycling truck, and according to NBC Bay Area, "The car was going so fast when it crashed, it was wedged under the rear of the... truck."
The crash happened just short of the S-curve and CHP officers don't believe that was a factor. The incident happened around 3:45 a.m., and KCBS says they still aren't sure if alcohol was involved. The Volvo slammed into the rear of the truck and ignited, and the female driver was killed.
