In other film news, Babies, a brilliant-looking French documentary filmed from the perspective of four babies in four different cities across the world -- San Francisco, Tokyo, Namibia, and Mongolia, from birth to their first steps, opens tomorrow at select theaters (just in time for Mother's Day). The movie, which has no narration and minimal dialogue, has lush cinematography and a superb soundtrack, and we venture to say it might be of interest to non-parents as well. After all, we were all babies once, and none of us remembers what it was like.
