"Love you on Project Runway!" No, no, just kidding. We would never say anything so humiliating. But just what is the proper entrée to approaching Jay Nicolas Sario, the Project Runway Season 7 star who, last night, was spotted sipping a lemon drop at Orson? Wait a minute, we’ve got it: "Mila is such a bitch!" Yep, total schwing.
Turns out, the catfight between Jay and opponent Mila Hermanovski wasn’t just some producer’s ploy to spike the ratings. The show’s toughest challenge, says the SF stylist and NoPa dweller, was teaming with Hermanovski in Episode 9, where the pair ranked among the runway’s three worst. "Mila has a strong point of view." Sario says. "No matter how ugly it is, you can tell it’s hers." Ouch (wink).
On tomorrow's episode (10pm on Lifetime), the fashion foes will vie for a coveted spot at New York Fashion Week. Sario, of course, is sworn to secrecy but did dish a bit about his fashion week collection: "To this date, I am still in love with it. It was my first baby." Incidentally, the 10 "edgy, sophisticated" looks were inspired by the 2009 Lords of the Samurai exhibit at San Francisco’s own Asian Art Museum. Sario also notes that the collection was “well-received by the press in New York." Was that a hint?
Well, we'd like to chat longer but Sario must dash—Rolando, his boyfriend of seven years ("that’s forever in gay years") and a visual merchandiser for Baby GAP, was cooking dinner at home. Cue the cuteness, bitches.
