For those of you not celebrating Resurrection-Chocolate-Bunny Day, think about indulging your inner John Cusack/Empire Records fanatic with the SF Mixtape Society's second go around at the Make-Out Room.
We were pleased as punch to report the news of the Society's first get-together last January (we're all sad-sack-lyric-quoting emo kids at heart), and hey! we're going to do it again: This Easter Sunday, the Make-Out Room welcomes mix-tape makers from all over the Bay Area. Feel free to arrange those tracks on a CD, USB or tape (authenticity rules) with the theme "Fools Rush In." Each attendee will leave with another person's mix to keep them warm on cold, rainy nights.
And that's not all: all Society attendees and a panel of judges may cast their votes for the most stupendous mix tape of them all (including artwork and track-listing). The winner(s) will leave with "prize packages" worth $50, presented by the Society's sponsors, including Matador Records, Photojojo, Little Paper Planes and others.
What: San Francisco Mixtape Society Party. It’s like Secret Santa with music mixes.
How Much: Open to all, free of charge
When: Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010, 4-6pm
Where: The Make-Out Room, 3225 22nd Street between Valencia and Mission, (415) 647-2888
