Due to a small fire on the tracks between the Powell and Civic Center station "that knocked out key equipment" this morning, BART service, according to The Chronicle (and not a BART update!?), will be "sluggish" all day and night.

This morning's small blaze, which "knocked out computers that keep track of the locations of trains between the Powell and 16th Street stations," will cause big problems all day. Why? Well, according to BART spokesperson Linton Johnson the "trains are being driven in manual mode in the area, at 25 mph instead of the typical 50 to 60 mph," hence the sluggishness.

Brace yourselves for a frustrating commute, transit riders.
