In a sport that has a significant homophobia problem, the Golden State Warriors will host their first-ever official Gay and Lesbian night at Oracle Arena on March 11, when the Warriors play with the Portland Trailblazers.
In fact, the entire day will be dedicated to the gays, which will include a tailgating event, VIP lounge access before the game (of course there will be a VIP lounge), LGBT t-shirts, and according to InterBasket, "seating with other gay and lesbian basketball fans."
The Oakland Gay Men’s Chorus and Cheer SF will sing the National Anthem and perform at the halftime show, respectively, and tickets are $25.
Speaking of gays and basketball, did you know San Francisco has its own league? True. Visit San Francisco Gay Basketball Association for more information on schedules and how to get in the game. Touchdown!
