Today's Love Everywhere dance performance at City Hall, put on by the Erika Chong Shuch Performance Project in celebration of the sixth-year anniversary of same-sex marriage, was a huge hit. We got there a few minutes after Noon and were confronted by a long line for security checks out the door of the Polk Street entrance. A kind security guard eagerly escorted us to the lesser known Grove Street entrance, so we could get in quicker to see the performance.
City Hall's rotunda was packed to the gills with spectators, and as the video shows, the dancers were scattered throughout the different levels of the space. The audience was asked to join the performance at the end of the show. We unfortunately weren't able to capture the throwing of the bouquets and garter belts. There were even real weddings quietly taking place during the performance, as this one bride was seen scoping things out before her ceremony.
You can still check out Love Everywhere tomorrow along Market and Powell Streets and Sunday at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. at Glide Memorial Church.
