Ever since Facebook altered its privacy settings in a ploy to get more traffic, users have been confused as to how re-privatize their profiles. So, Valleywag came up with this handy guide to help you restore your settings.
Facebook, it seems, found said guide "abusive" and allegedly blocked it from one user's profile. As of today, though, the ban has been lifted. (We were able to post Valleywag's guide to our FB profile early this morning.)
But! According to Facebook, you really have nothing to worry about. Ahem:
Worried about search engines? Your information is safe. There have been misleading rumors recently about Facebook indexing all your information on Google. This is not true. Facebook created public search listings in 2007 to enable people to search for your name and see a link to your Facebook profile. They will still only see a basic set of information.
So, hm, there you have it. Anyone else worrying about their privacy on Facebook?
