Enough signatures have been collected to put marijuana on the 2010 ballot. The effort to get enough John Hancocks, SF Chron reports, "cost more than $1 million." The proposal? Glad you asked. It would make possession of up to one ounce of marijuana for adults 21 and older legal. What's more, you could "cultivate marijuana gardens up to 25 square feet."

"If you increase the availability of a drug, you increase its use in youth. If you decrease the perception of harm, you increase its use in youth," executive director of Californians for Drug Free Youth John Redman lies. "Legalizing marijuana does both."
While the pot campaign organizers plan to submit more than 650,00 signatures in January, the California Secretary of State s"till must validate the signatures before the measure is placed on the ballot."
