MUSIC: Todd Rundgren wrote some of the classic soundtrack songs of the 70s, including "Hello It's Me," "I Saw the Light," and "Can We Still Be Friends." In the last decade or so he's been writing more electronic, epic music that probably appeals to a narrower audience than his older stuff. But in his live shows, he always makes sure to play a hefty helping of the tunes that make the Boomers swoon, as we're sure he will tonight at The Palace of Fine Arts.
7:30 p.m. // Palace of Fine Arts Theatre (3301 Lyon St.) // $65-$75
PHOTOGRAPHY: SF Camerawork is a non-profit photography gallery, and its annual benefit auction is coming up this weekend on December 5th. Tonight is one of the last chances to view the work on display and up for auction before the crowds descend, so it's best to figure out what you might want to bid on ahead of time.
Through 6 p.m. // SF Camerawork (657 Mission Street, 2nd Fl) // free
ART: Toban Nichols, who we mentioned a couple weeks back, has a solo opening tonight featuring some of his brilliant giclée prints captured off of television screens featuring the likes of Barbara Walters, Tyra Banks, and Endora from Bewitched. The show is called "The Tragedy Collection," and the opening should be a good time.
5:30 p.m. // SF LGBT Center (1800 Market Street) // free
