The feud between San Francisco and Oakland just got hotter. Oakland, thinking it's all that, creams San Francisco when it comes to having an absent mayor. SFGate's Chip Johnson boasts, "While everyone was talking about Newsom's absence, Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums slipped away from the office for most of November soon after the disclosure of a tax lien for nearly $240,000 levied on Oakland's first family."
And when it comes to dodging the press, Newsom is downright virginal when compared to Dellums.
"Newsom is a veritable rock star compared with Oakland's elusive, reclusive Quiet Mayor," Johnson shoves in our face, "who has so far refused to publicly address his own tax troubles in the face of heavy public criticism."
Yeah. When you compare Newsom's failing to answer questions properly about a two-day suntanning jaunt to Dellums' failing to pay taxes, it does put things into perspective.
In addition to being a not-present mayor, Dellums also cannot keep control of a city that has become the third highest for crime in the U.S for 2009.
You move, Gavin.
