Soul Food Farm of Vacaville, who provide the Bay Area with delicious eggs and chickens via various locations and through their brand-spanking new CSA, encountered a devastating fire last month. One thousand baby chicks perished, 30+ acres were scorched, and an 1880s barn burned to the ground.
There will be fundraisers at two different locations this Sunday to benefit the farm:
Pizza Party at Pizzaiolo

The event will feature a raffle with tons of prizes, live Brazilian guitar music by Felipe Ferraz, free wine & beer donated by local venues, and hors d'ouevre and sweets made by local chefs and cooks. Five Soul Food Farm baby chicks will also be auctioned off to aspiring urban farmers.

Three-course family-style meal, including wine for $50. Call (415) 391-7599 for reservations. Soul Food Farm eggs and chicken are regularly featured on Il Cane Rosso's menu, and all proceeds will go to the farm.
Soul Food Farm is also holding an online auction with prizes of varying value, which runs through this Saturday, October 10 at 4 p.m.
