Ingleside Police Station has issued a (slightly belated) warning to the Sunnyside neighbors of City College. Two incidences of sexual battery have occurred in the last month or so (November 26 and December 2) on the pedestrian bridge near Geneva and Ocean Avenues. Both attacks happened at around 6 p.m., smack dab in the middle of commute hours. There was also a December 8th attack that may or may not be related. It occurred at Ocean Avenue and Lee Street.
The perpetrator groped the victims and walked away. He has been described as a Latin male, 18 to 30 years old, standing 5'9" to 5'10 tall, weighing about 170 pounds, short spiky black hair, no facial hair, square facial features. The suspect wore a white jacket and an iPod in the first attack. He wore a orange shirt beneath an orange jacket, a gold necklace and a backpack in the second attack.
Despite dispatching decoys to the area in the last week, the police have been unable to lure the perpetrator. Please keep an eye out, ladies and gents. Call 911 if you see anything suspicious. Inspector Rod Nakanishi is assigned to the case and can be contacted directly at the Sexual Assault Detail at 415-553-1361.
