- In a police chase that lasted 12 blocks and ended in a spectacular" crash in Golden Gate Park, three suspected robbers were sent to this hospital this morning, two of them life-threatening injuries. It all started at 3 a.m. after a witness called in to report that someone was breaking into a "gray Toyota pickup truck" at Seventh Avenue and Hugo Street. An off-duty cop later spotted the car at Seventh and Lincoln and tried to pull the car over to no avail, sending them on a chase. No one else was injured.

Within 15 minutes, two men were shot dead in San Francisco this past Friday night. The first victim was Keith Johnson, 24, of Vallejo. He was "shot in a car at 10:47 p.m. in the 1500 block of McKinnon Avenue." No arrests have been made yet.
The second killing occurred a few minutes later at 11 p.m. The victim, Santos Rafael Canto-Aldana, 2,1 was "shot in the 2300 block of Mission Street," and later died at SF General. It seems that Canto-Aldana had no prior criminal history, according to the Gate, and "may have been in the wrong place, or wearing the wrong color."
