--The workers united -- have a whole month to celebrate! July is Laborfest month, and you can celebrate today at a poetry reading about growing up working-class at City Lights (5 p.m., Broadway and Columbus), or at all-day labor movie screenings at the Roxie ($5, 16th and Valencia), including a documentary about the union workers who rebuilt SF after the 1906 earthquake.

--USF's indie rock station KUSF 90.3 is throwing a Rock-n-Swap on campus (Masonic and Golden Gate). 10-4 p.m., $3, and all proceeds go to keep the station on the air.

--The SF Symphony is playing at Stern Grove (19th and Sloat) at 2 p.m. this afternoon. The program includes a Mozart piano concerto and a Beethoven symphony.

--Kid guitar instructor Doug Snyder brings his school of rock, featuring songs written by his students, known as the Jellydots to 12 Galaxies for a child-friendly indie rock show at 2 p.m. $10 ($5 for kids), 2565 Mission (x 23rd).

--Queer-friendly salsa dancing at El Rio! Mission and Precita, $8, instruction starts at 3 p.m., dancing starts at 4:15. Free BBQ until it runs out!
