Here's your chance -- we never thought it could happen, but the magic of the Kwik-E-Mart has landed, temporarily, in the real world. It's a place where you can buy KrustyO's, pink donuts, and Paul McCartney may be hanging out on the roof.
Oh, and if you've found a twenty dollar bill in the street, you may just be able to bribe the guy behind to counter to make you an All-Syrup Super Squishy.
Kwik-E-Mart, a store normally confined to your television set, is invading 7-Eleven stores across the country; locally, there's one in Mountain View. This is of course to promote the upcoming Simpson's movie, which opens later this month. Interestingly, 7-Eleven is covering all the costs, figuring that things like having old-man Jasper frozen in the freezer and Buzz Cola in the fridge will spur business. They could well be right.
No Duff Beer, though.
Check it out: Kwik-E-Mart, where money can, indeed, be used for goods and services. Come again!
(Also: our comrades at LAist have a great photo essay on one of these in their area, and blogger Dennis T Cheung took some great pics of the Mountain View store, as did Humuhumu at Junkyard Clubhouse. Check 'em out!!)
"An all-syrup Super Squishy? Such a thing has never been done!"
