Green Wombat was at the Bank of America / Redwood Forest Foundation announcement yesterday, which took place at the "urban redwoods" next to the Transamerica Pyramid. As part of the bank's $20 billion "green lending initiative," it's providing 100 percent financing to the non-profit for the acquisition of 50,635 acres of redwood timberlands in Northern California--the nitty-gritty details of which seem innovative and green (and are available within the article).
Green Wombat itself is a blog we've recently discovered that follows the cross-section of business and the environment. It's the brainchild of Todd Woody, an assistant managing editor at Business 2.0 magazine here in San Francisco. Good stuff.
Looks like Seuss' beloved Lorax has some help in speaking for -- or at least about -- the trees.
