The teen said he knew it wasn't right to take Tai, but that he took good care of him. The teen was willing to accept the consequences of his actions, but the SPCA, being all about mercy and compassion and stuff, decided to let it go, since the dog came back safely and the kid turned himself in. (Did the kid get the $1000 reward?)
So it turns out the four people who bust into the shelter just took the first dog they saw, which happened to be Tai. The teen who returned the dog does not appear to have been any of the four suspects spotted on camera. And Tai, who's been in the shelter since December when his owner died, is back up for adoption again. Keep that doggy on a short leash!
