Well, Barry's ho'ing it up in front of other teams and having a little macking session with the Cards paid off-- Barry signed with the Giants or will according to MLB.com. The deal is one year for $16 million which we think pretty much empties the old Giants bank account for the year. Goodbye Barry Zito. Your 2007 Giants are like the 2006 Giants except worse.
Your starting 8:
1B Aurillia
25 Durham
SS Vizquel
3B Feliz
LF Bonds
CF Roberts
RF Winn
C Molina
Excuse us while we yawn.
Over on McCovey Chronicles they seem to be jumping for joy but Barry ain't worth $16 million when nobody else was really into signing him. He is a 42 year old guy with bad knees and a bad temprement who can't give you a full season. We're just dreading another season of a bad team playing bad baseball to a crowd waiting around for one guy to bat and an entire nation rooting against him.
The sad thing is that the Giants really had no other choice to do what they did.
