We don't often wish we commuted by car from the East Bay to San Jose, but today's a special day -- bank robbers trying to flee the cops on 680 are throwing their money onto the highway!! Whooo!
A San Jose Wells Fargo was robbed today around 2:45 p.m., and the robbers fled the scene in a small gray car. The authorities spotted the car and took chase. The robbers then got onto I-680, started tossing the bills onto the road, and were then apprehended at Berryessa Road.
Parts of southbound 680 are now closed, along with four on-ramps (Berryessa, Jacklin, Landess, and Calaveras Blvd.), as the cops gather "evidence" across the highway. We'll help! "No, officer, we have no idea where that extra $1000 in unmarked $20 bills might have gone. Wind?"
