Locally, appointed incumbents swept the polls. We'll quote the Usual Suspects email at 10:30pm:
The election is over. Cisneros and (no shock here) Herrera prevail, andHerrera won with a whopping 98%, with only 20% abstaining (a bargain at about $2 raised per vote). Read the numbers for yourselves and cheer or weep as you see fit. And don't forget, there's a primary election in June that will decide Arnie's opponent, but thanks to Prop E, you'll have to wait until November to vote for Phil Ting again.
though RCV hasn't been counted out yet, it looks like Ting will get to
run for this office as an incumbent in a few short months. Prop A (City
College bonds) wins, Prop B (Pothole bonds) loses (needed two thirds, so
though it got a majority, it goes down), and Prop D (Muni oversight
changes) loses as well.
Long live the Republic of California. Or something.
