We don't know about you, but far prefer falling back to springing forward. It has been killing us to drag ourselves out of bed and walk the dog in the dark. It just ain't natural!

So it's with no small relief that we that we bid Daylight Saving Time farewell for yet another year at 2 AM Saturday night / Sunday morning (depending on how much of a night owl you are). We always heard stories of folks lobbying Congress to extend Daylight Saving Time for just a few more days, ostensibly to make Halloween a little brighter and safer for all (and much to the dismay of the anti candy, devil worshipping and fun lobby).

But that lobby fell with the stroke of our fearless leader's pen on the recently-signed Energy Policy Act of 2005, as it dictates that DST will begin on the second Sunday of March and end the first Sunday of November starting in 2007.

So enjoy the darkness of this and next year's Halloween, for on Halloween 2007, we will still be walking SFist Franny in the dark and commiting our traditional acts of vandalism and candy consumption in the daylight.
