Hey, remember the kids rampaging through the streets of the Mission, smashing the state one window at a time? Well, it ain't quite over yet. First off, at least one protestor who's still in custody needs help coming up with the $5,000 needed to post bail -- you can send a donation! Us, we would call Bad Boy Bail Bonds (they speak our language -- funky-fresh rappin').
On the other side of the coin, "The Man," AKA Heather Fong, has reassigned deputy chief and Mission Station veteran Greg Suhr because he seems to have decided to pull the riot squad off the streets right before two officers got trapped in the melee, and Officer Peter Shields went down with a head wound.
And finally, while this isn't exactly related to the G8 protests, it sure is interesting. Carol Norris of Code Pink wrote a forum piece published last week in the Chronicle detailing how the state's National Guard unit was gathering intelligence on Code Pink during their many protests of the Governor after he was elected. State Senator Joe Dunn, D-Garden Grove, is calling for an investigation into how much the CHP spends on protecting the governor and whether or not the National Guard was spying on American citizens.
