The photo event at the Apple Store was, in SFist's opinion, a smashing success. People crowded the presentation space -- many there from the crew at Bay Area Photologgers, others who were just interested shoppers, and at least one person who just came for a copy of Tiger and an iSight and wondered what a bunch of her blogger friends were up to.

The presenters all brought very different perspectives to the event. Some were trained photographers, others just learned from books and practice. Some shot on film, some on digital, and many on both. Everyone talked about what got them into photoblogging, and went into detail about the techniques behind some of their spectacular photographs. Lucas Shuman of Lackadaisical, who organized the event, actually showed us the personal backend interface (wow, that sounds kinky) to his website Lackadaisical. SFist says, "Lucas, release the code under the GNU GPL and let the rest of us play with it!"

While the Apple Store was very nice to let everyone storm the place (and were especially happy that, apparently, the event moved product), we wanted to go downstairs and ask the manager to turn down the music, which was interfering with the presentations. Afterwards, at the House of Shields, Lucas promised more events in the future, and we promised to get more involved in the photoblogging community.
